Ads on SCNX
Advertise your server or product on SCNX and reach a young tech-affine audience consisting of Discord power users. SCNX Ads help finance free bot hosting for the community.
Ad Types
Server Checkin Ads
Checkin ads are shown to users when they extend their free server plan (weekly checkin). These ads reach users who are actively managing their Discord servers.
- Format: 15-120 second video or up to 4 images with text overlay
- Targeting: Shown during the weekly server checkin process
- Pricing: Charged per click and per view
- Link to: A website URL or an SCNX-enabled Discord server
Dashboard Ads
Dashboard ads are displayed as small banners in the bottom-right corner of the SCNX dashboard while users browse their servers.
- Format: Text + image
- Targeting: Shown to dashboard users approximately every 30 seconds
- Pricing: Charged per 1,000 views and per click
- Link to: A website URL or a Discord server
Creating an Ad
- Go to scnx.app/user/ads
- Click Create Ad and select the ad type
- Fill in the ad content:
- Text: The message shown alongside your ad
- Media: Upload a video (for checkin ads) or images
- Target: Choose whether to link to a website or a Discord server
- Locale: Select which language audience to target
- Set your payment preferences (see Payment & Budgeting)
- Submit for review
Ad Review
All ads are reviewed by the SCNX team before going live. This usually takes up to 12 hours. Your ad status will show as Review Pending during this time.
Ads may be denied if they violate content guidelines (hate speech, misleading claims, political content, etc.).
Ad States

| Active | Running and being shown to users |
| Paused | Manually paused by you, no charges |
| Out of Funds | Monthly spending limit reached or balance exhausted |
| Review Pending | Awaiting staff review (up to 12 hours) |
| Denied | Rejected for content guideline violation |
| Invalid | Content no longer valid (e.g. Discord server removed, bot permissions changed) |
| Archived | Permanently removed |
Managing Your Ads
From the ads dashboard, you can:
- Pause/Resume ads at any time
- Edit content (text, images, target URL, locale)
- Update payment settings (spending limits, payment method)
- View performance (clicks and views, both monthly and lifetime)
- Archive ads you no longer need
Payment & Budgeting
Ad Balance
Ads are funded from your ad balance - a prepaid credit on your SCNX account. You can top up your balance from the ads dashboard.
Payment Methods
- Pre-Paid Without Limit: Your ads run until your balance runs out
- Pre-Paid With Limit: Set a monthly spending cap - ads pause when the limit is reached
